The confirmation letter is taken to guest services at the resort and a Terrain Park Safety Pass will be printed out with your photo and name. This pass will include monthly raffles from various supporters including CVM Subaru, GRINDlab skatepark and more. With the pass, you will receive 2 free skate sessions at GRINDlab, 1/2 priced park events with every 3rd event is event being free. Your TPSP card will keep track for you at guest services! We currently plan on hosting 6 park events, with the first being December 16th sponsored by Atomic and Hestra!.

If we can create awareness of the program and increase the amount of knowledge of park safety and etiquette, the better our parks will be.

When riding through terrain parks all across the nation, issues can arise. Many issues seem to stem from terrain park etiquette. This includes examples such as cutting other riders off, sitting in landings/blind zones, stopping in the middle of the park in “rider” zones and using features inappropriately. Also, riding outside of your ability level can cause many different problems.

Each feature is built to be used a certain way. With more information and incentives on learning about terrain park safety and etiquette, we hope to increase the awareness throughout our parks. Not only our every day park riders, but also anyone that skis or snowboards. Terrain Parks are meant to be fun and adventurous which is what we love to promote at Roundtop Mountain Resort. By increasing the level of safety and etiquette in our parks, we will be able to maintain and build better features, create more flow throughout our park, cut down on preventable injuries and offer you (our guests) the chance for free education and the chance for FREE GEAR/SWAG.

Two sponsors of the TPSP are GRINDlab Skatepark in Camp Hill, PA and CVM Subaru. GRINDlab is a new indoor skatepark and is one of the cleanest and most fun skate park’s we’ve ever skated at. CVM Subaru is located in Mechanicsburg on the Carlisle Pike. CVM Subaru offers the newest Subaru vehicles which are great for driving in the snow. They also look pretty snazzy in the summer time too.

The Fall Extravaganza this year brings the Race Club’s swap, Mountain Sports sale, live music, chairlift rides, hay rides and even more! November 5 & 6, from 9am-5pm, promise to be loads of fun for all ages!!

This year a $15 wristband includes access to an all day open house at the Ropes Course (one zip per person), FREE field fees and marker rentals at Paintball, a chairlift ride, a hay maze – for the young(er) among us, and endless rides on the hay wagon.

In addition, free of charge, a vendor exhibit hall in the lower level of the lodge. The Lancaster, York, and Susquehanna Ski Clubs will be vying for your attention, along with other engaging booths. We’re asking all vendors to submit their creative idea for how they’ll compete with the beautiful outdoors to get your attention.

Both days you’ll be able to enjoy live music outdoors (hopefully!) from 1-4pm with Rick Pawelski on Saturday, and Autumn Brew on Sunday.

New this year – a wing eating contest! Held at 4:30 on Saturday, November 5th – you’ll be judged on how many HOT wings you eat in 10 minutes. Pitchers of water, and napkins provided. Registration is $5 and limited to the first 15 who sign up in advance by calling 717-432-9631 x3723. Winner will receive two lift tickets (a $132 value), and a trophy.

Roundtop Beach Party, June 23, 2011

Mountain Adventures will be open as usual at 11am on June 23 and stay open until 9pm – an extra hour of fun at no additional charge. DJ Bill Runkle generously offered to bring his cotton candy machine for free sweet gooey goodness while taking requests and cranking out the tunes. We’ll also have sno cones available (for free) to keep you cool! We’re trucking in a big pile of sand for the young kids to hunt for sea urchins and starfish. We’ll have huge bubble wands available, scavenger hunts, and opportunities to enter guessing contests and win future admissions to Mountain Adventures. With your imagination, brightly colored fishing nets, hanging paper seagulls, sunshine, and pictures of tropical fish – you’ll feel like you’re truly on the boardwalk at the beach! We’ll be selling cheeseburgers in paradise, funnel cakes and a full bar available for summer drinks!

The fun filled evening will complete with fireworks from the top of the mountain at approximately 9:30. Help us spread the word and come prepared to have fun!

Start your weekend off right and have fun with your friends at Roundtop Paintball fields! (A new field is actually opening this weekend so Father’s Day weekend would be an excellent time to check it out!)

This coming weekend we’re continuing our tradition of summer open houses at the ropes course. (We should call them something besides open house….something more catchy. Any thoughts?) If you don’t know what an open house is…keep on reading. The ropes course is primarily used for facilitated team-building. However, since it’s super fun, once a month during the summer we open it up to the public. All of the high course elements – 35′ climbing wall, burma bridge, pirates crossing, 40′ challenge tour and 300′ zip line, etc are all available for your fun. Oh, and I can’t forget the canoes and kayaks! This year we’re asking everyone to reserve their spot online so we can provide the best possible experience and give everyone the best value. When reserving you have two choices – the high course including zip line, and the high course excluding zip line. Visit our website to insure your spot for fun!

Our Paintball fields are open on the weekends, and during the week by reservation. Next month we’re trying something new by opening on Friday evening for night play. It’s scheduled for June 17th – the Friday of Father’s Day weekend in case you’re looking for a fun activity between Dad and kids. Again, we’re asking for online registration so we can staff appropriately for the event. It costs $20 to reserve online but that money will go towards your purchases at Paintball headquarters that Friday. This is our first time trying the event this way so we’re open to feedback. Lastly, we had so much fun with fireworks on New Year’s Eve that we decided to try them over the summer. Rather than just randomly picking a day to shoot fireworks we decided to create an event (genius, I know!). We’re having a beach party on June 23 at Mountain Adventures. Mountain Adventures will be open for business as usual and beginning at 4pm we’ll have a DJ and we’re going to have lots of extra activities going on, free of charge. Stay tuned for details.

This week we’ve had a booth for two days at the Pentagon for their spring travel show – enticing employees to get out of the city and have some fun on the mountain! We’re also exhibiting at the Joint Base Anacostia Bolling for their spring travel expo. Later in the month we’ll return to DC for a third travel expo. We always offer a enter to win for a Mountain Adventures package so look us up when we’re in your area!

In June we’ll be at the Central Penn Parent Family Favorites Festival, Jubilee Day, and Codorus Blast. These family focused events are an excellent match with our activities.
